Senior Electronics Technician - Fire Life Safety Systems
Work Schedule: 5:30am to 2:00pm
The primary purpose of the Sr. Electronic Tech FLS position is to provide advanced journey level work associated with electronic equipment, systems, and components.

EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate degree or vocational certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Eight years experience in the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of electronic equipment, systems and components to include five years of fire alarm programming experience and two years of experience with fire alarms and sprinkler systems. May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis. All of the following: National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET) Level I certification. Class A, B or C valid Texas driver's license depending on the type and weight of vehicle to be operated and number of passengers to be carried and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of electronic equipment, systems, and components.
- Experience With systems from manufacturers like Notifier, EST, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.
- Five years of fire alarm programming experience with fire alarms and sprinkler systems
- Proven expertise with low-voltage electronics and fire detection systems.
- Familiarity with applicable codes: NFPA 72, NEC, ADA, IBC, and local fire safety ordinances.
