Senior Financial Analyst - Ofc of EVP & Chief Phys Exec

As a Senior Financial Analyst with the Office of the EVP & Chief Physician Executive, you’ll play a key role in turning financial and operational data into insights that help guide decisions across MD Anderson’s clinical divisions. Your work will directly support clinical leaders and administrative partners by providing accurate analysis, reporting, and data that helps strengthen financial performance and operational outcomes at one of the world’s leading cancer centers.

You’ll serve as a resource to staff by providing functional guidance, training, and presentations on financial reporting, reconciliation processes, and system use, while responding to complex requests for financial, clinical, research, and educational data analysis.

The role reports to the Administrative Director and Director of Finance & Administration and is expected to work onsite at least six days per month, with additional onsite presence based on business needs. Function: Provides financial analysis, reporting, and data management for clinical operations. Ensures adherence to institutional financial controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards.

Scope: Supports financial and operational decision-making across the Chief Physician Executive (CPE) and Clinical Divisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Financial Analysis & Reporting

·Analyze financial systems, accounting processes, and operational performance.

·Prepare cost analyses, feasibility studies, and margin/variance reports to support decision-making.

· Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and data models using systems such as OBIEE, Essbase, Power BI, and Excel.

·Validate and reconcile financial data and ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.

·Maintain and enhance databases, queries, and reporting tools for clinical revenue and productivity tracking.

·Generate and distribute recurring and ad hoc financial reports.

2. Budgeting & Financial Planning

· Support annual budgeting, including expense review, revenue projections, and budget revisions.

· Partner with departments to analyze expenditures and forecast financial performance.

· Provide recommendations to improve financial processes, controls, and outcomes.

3. Systems, Training & Process Improvement

· Lead or support implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools.

· Train and support staff on financial reporting, reconciliation processes, and system use.

· Deliver presentations and educational sessions on financial topics.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.

4. Stakeholder Support

· Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to meet financial data and reporting needs.

· Respond to requests for financial, clinical, research, or educational data analysis.

Additional Responsibilities

· Represent CPE professionally within and outside the organization.

· Maintain organized financial records and reporting documentation.
