Senior Sterile Processing Technologist-  Main Hospital- Sterile Processing Ops
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. The ideal candidate for the Senior Sterile Processing Tech position will be certified with a minimum of two years hospital-based sterile processing experience.
 
Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs duties and troubleshoots in all areas of sterile processing to include decontamination, assemble, sterilization of advanced instrumentation and equipment while adhering to the manufacturer and department guidelines. Identifies and inspects instruments for cleanliness and functionality. Operates and troubleshoots equipment. Maintains safety standards. Prepares case carts and delivers instrumentation to the operating room. Stocks operating room par levels for stored instrumentation and emergency carts.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent. 

Experience
Two years hospital-based sterile processing experience. With preferred education, no experience required. 

Certifications/Licensure
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD). Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). 

This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all
requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
