EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Formal culinary school coursework/completion. Thorough knowledge of the culinary arts including cooking, baking, salad preparation, sanitation, etc.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years of experience in food preparation in an institutional or commercial establishment to include one year in a supervisory capacity.
Preferred: Affiliation in a Professional Chef’s Association. City of Houston Health Certificate, Professional Chef Certification through American Culinary Federation.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Required: None
Preferred: Serve Safe Certified. City of Houston Food Handlers card. ACF Certification Chef de Cuisine or higher.
