The primary purpose of the Senior Associate Director, Liaison, Grateful Giving Program, is to serve as a liaison between the Development Division and the faculty and staff of MD Anderson, facilitating communication and collaboration in furtherance of the goals of the Grateful Giving Program.

The Senior Associate Director will be partnered with identified key divisions and stakeholders to engage and educate leadership, clinicians, administrators, volunteers and others in the Program, including the grateful patient and faculty development referral process. In coordination with the rest of the team, the Senior Associate Director will build strategy to collaborate across the institution to proactively pursue opportunities to advance the development of a culture of philanthropy. Within the Development Division, the Senior Associate Director will manage the triage and tracking of referrals and assure engaged faculty and staff partners remain fully informed about the status of their development referrals, including long-term outcomes. The Senior Associate Director will also work across the Development Division to develop strategy to educate staff about assigned key division priorities, concerns and opportunities.

Relationship-Building and Reporting

  • Provides superior customer service to assigned divisions and faculty.
  • Builds relationships with faculty and key members within assigned divisions, including, but not limited to, department chairs, division heads, program directors, administrators, physicians, nurses and other staff to strengthen and expand the Program.
  • Provide insight and guidance to faculty and key members within assigned divisions to facilitate the development of strategy for philanthropic initiatives.
  • Create reports and provide timely analyses and recommendations to the Director, Grateful Giving Program.
  • Participates in regular meetings as directed. Attends events/special functions as requested.

Program Operations

  • Works in collaboration with the Director, Grateful Giving Program, to inform strategy for and implement the infrastructure of a grateful patient engagement program.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for assigned divisions and faculty, ensuring that assigned faculty and leadership remained informed and engaged in relevant Development activities.
  • Engages faculty and administrators in identifying and providing patient prospect referrals, facilitating referral handling, and ensuring prompt action and timely follow-up.
  • Creates processes to inform and educate staff about assigned key division priorities, concerns, and opportunities.
  • Works with Development leadership to ensure HIPAA compliance in the implementation and operation of the Program.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration or related field.

 

EXPERIENCE

Required: Seven years experience in private fund development, marketing, advertising, public/client relations or closely related field and two years of supervisory or managerial experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.

Preferred: Experience working with faculty/clinical care providers in support of philanthropic initiatives in a healthcare or higher education environment and handling PHI and other confidential information.

Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
