Sr Research Assistant - Pediatrics Research

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree with at least five years of related experience, preferably working with, handling and conducting experiments in mice. Must be highly motivated, reliable and a team player.
The primary purpose of the Senior Research Assistant position is to manage a large colony of experimental animals and conduct various assigned research projects.
Research Activities
Will establish brain cancer models, breed animals, genotype progeny, monitor mice for tumors and toxicity, profile immune cells.
Will complete procedures in cells and animals including PCR, immunohistochemistry, chromatin immunoprecipitation, Western blotting and bioluminescence assays.
Research Data Analysis and Reporting
Analyze research data after completing experiments.
Problem solve.
Compile, write and submit reports to PI.
Organize data to assist PI with grant applications and progress reports.
Research Development and Collaboration
Train students, postdoctoral and clinical fellows in research.
Communicate and collaborate with staff, faculty and investigators on research projects.
Monitor equipment.
Administrative
Maintain an up-to-date, organized, accurate, and legible lab notebook that records all experiments and tests in detail.
Help ordering and archiving supply inventory.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
Experience
Required: Three years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.
Preferred: Experience with non-viral transfection methods for human cells.
