The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Supervisor of Outpatient Services to support the Radiation Oncology Therapeutic Access & Scheduling department, which is responsible for coordinating patient access, scheduling, and front desk operations to ensure efficient outpatient care delivery. This team plays a critical role in maintaining seamless patient experiences, optimizing scheduling workflows, and supporting clinical operations.
The Supervisor of Outpatient Services at Radiation Therapeutic Services will provide leadership and operational oversight for front desk and scheduling teams while driving performance, service quality, and patient satisfaction. The Supervisor of Outpatient Services is essential to ensuring excellence in daily operations and continuous process improvement.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with demonstrated leadership capability, strong emotional intelligence, adaptability, and coachability, along with experience using Epic to run reports; this individual should excel in team development, operational oversight, and driving performance improvements in a patient access or outpatient setting.
Minimum $29.09 – Midpoint $36.30 – Maximum $43.51

Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
• Provide day-to-day oversight of assigned staff in front desk operations teams
• Ensure front desk procedures are documented, maintained, and consistently followed
• Monitor daily oversight of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
Staff Leadership & Development
• Supervise assigned employees including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluations
• Coach and counsel staff to support performance improvement and professional growth
• Set productivity and quality standards in partnership with centralized operations
• Monitor staff performance and implement solutions to address gaps
Service Excellence & Collaboration
• Communicate and reinforce service excellence standards with staff
• Collaborate with centralized operations to maintain and improve service quality
• Partner with providers to improve service levels and patient scheduling processes
Process Improvement & Systems
• Assist with template management to optimize scheduling efficiency
• Implement operational changes to enhance outpatient workflows
• Utilize Epic to generate reports and support data-driven decision-making
Direct Support Functions
• Perform patient service coordinator functions when required to support operations
EDUCATION
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 3 years Experience in a healthcare environment to include two years in a project coordination/lead/supervisory capacity.
- May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
- Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
- Preferred: Previous experience leading teams.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
