Technical Services Coordinator


The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. The Police Department-PASS supports the safety and security operations of the institution through advanced electronic security technologies, alarm monitoring, access control systems, and emergency response coordination. The Technical Services Coordinator serves as a critical link between customers, technical support personnel, and security operations to ensure reliable system performance and timely response to security-related events.


Within UT MD Anderson, the Technical Services Coordinator receives and processes electronic security system requests, coordinates service dispatches, monitors alarms and system outages, and maintains accurate security records. The Technical Services Coordinator plays an essential role in safeguarding patients, visitors, faculty, staff, students, and institutional assets. The Technical Services Coordinator contributes to the effective operation of security technology systems that support the institution's mission.


The ideal candidate has experience working with electronic security technology in a dispatch, command center, or security operations environment. Preferred candidates have experience reviewing alarm activity, analyzing security-related video information, assessing incidents, and determining appropriate escalation actions. Experience supporting access control systems, security reporting, technical troubleshooting, and electronic security operations is highly desirable. Education and licensure requirements were not provided.


Minimum $22.60 – Midpoint $28.13 – Maximum $33.65


The typical work schedule is standard working hours with varying shifts.

Responsibilities
Customer Service & Dispatch Coordination

 • Receive and respond to customer requests related to electronic security systems • Process, document, and resolve customer service requests • Dispatch appropriate service personnel based on customer needs and system issues • Maintain records and documentation for all completed tasks and service activities


Security Monitoring & Incident Response 

• Monitor electronic security systems, equipment status, alarms, and operational conditions • Analyze alarm activity and review available security-related information to assess situations • Notify appropriate personnel regarding system outages, equipment failures, and alarm conditions • Support escalation activities when incidents require additional response or intervention • Assist with emergency recall activities and operational response during unusual occurrences


Access Control & System Administration 

• Perform routine modifications within the access control management system • Respond to software issues involving security system modifications • Maintain and manage access authority records • Ensure system records and user access documentation remain accurate and current


Reporting & Documentation 

• Utilize various databases to complete authorized system activity reports • Generate, complete, and distribute journal replay reports for authorized personnel • Maintain detailed records of completed work, system activities, and security-related transactions • Support accurate documentation and record retention activities


Technical Support & Inventory Management

 • Assist with testing electronic security system equipment • Assist with activation and deployment of electronic security system equipment • Support inventory control and documentation of electronic security system parts • Assist with handling and tracking electronic security components and related records • Travel locally or long distance occasionally for training or business purposes as required

EDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 5 years Experience in telecommunications, dispatch or a call center environment.
  • Preferred: Automated or computerized maintenance management system, and/or word processor/spreadsheet software.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
