The Research and Administrative Facilities (RAF) department manages the operations and maintenance of research and administrative buildings, including both the Bastrop and Smithville campuses.  The RAF team also includes parking and transportation, audio visual and event operations, as well as the exterior site operations, all of which support all the Houston campuses and properties.

The work schedule is $37,450 - $42,725 - $48,000

The work schedule is Monday–Friday, 11:45 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., including a 1‑hour lunch break.

The ideal candidate for this role is a dependable, service-focused professional who thrives in a customer-facing environment and enjoys working both independently and outdoors. They will bring at least a high school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of customer service experience in a retail, office, or related service setting. The ideal candidate is confident operating vehicles such as golf carts, transit buses, or similar equipment, and holds a valid Texas Class A, B, or C driver’s license with a clean driving record verified through the Texas Department of Transportation.

 

They will demonstrate outstanding customer service and communication skills, showing patience, professionalism, and courtesy in every interaction. This individual takes initiative, solves problems with minimal supervision, and consistently delivers high-quality service.

SUMMARY
Provides transportation to patients and employees throughout the institution utilizing sky bridge infrastructures.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Customer Service Transport passengers safely through the skybridge. Be able to provide assistance and directions to patients & guests when needed. Respectful and courteous to customers and co-workers alike. Provide wheelchairs and assistance with them to guests.

Teamwork Responsive to concerns of guests and co-workers. Address safety concerns as needed. Follow all established institutional policies and procedures. Maintain a safe work environment.

Communication Greet and engage all guests being transported as well as those waiting to be transported. Must be alert at all times, providing warnings to pedestrians about on coming carts.

EDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Two years Relevant work experience and ability to drive golf carts, three-ton van or other vehicles as required.
  • Preferred: Experience in a retail, office or related service industry

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required: TDL - Texas Drivers License Class A, B or C valid Texas driver's license depending on the type and weight of vehicle to be operated and number of passengers to be carried. Upon Hire and
  • Required: Good driving record as verified with the Texas Department of Transportation. Upon Hire
  • Preferred: CDL License Class A CDL or B CDL Texas driver's license depending on the type and weight of vehicle to be operated and number of passengers to be carried. Good driving record as verified with the Texas Department of Transportation. Upon Hire

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
