Ultrasound Technologist
Required Education: Graduation from an accredited program of ultrasound technology or radiologic technology.
Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree
Required License/Certification: All of the following:
- Certified by at least one of the following: ARDMS or ARRT Sonography (S) or ARRT Vascular Sonography (VS) or Registry Eligible.
- Reigstry Eligible: Within 24 months of graduation from an Ultrasound or Radiologic Technology Program, registry eligible candidates must obtain full certification from ARDMS or ARRT (S) or ARRT (VS). Failure to obtain full registration will result in termination of employment or With 6 months of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist at UTMDACC.
- Failure to obtain certification through ARDMS or ARRT (S) or ARRT (VS) within 24 months from start of cross-training will result in termination of employment
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography credentials.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)/ CPR
- Failure to maintain certification will result in disciplinary action including termination of employment
Preferred: ARDMS certified with the Breast Registry
Required: No ultrasound expiernece required or 6 months of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist at UTMDAC.
Preferred: Two years of exprience in Sonography.
