Experience

Required

Five years of systems administration experience in production environments.  May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis or completed years of college on a one to one basis.


Preferred Experience

5+ years’ of experience in administering UNIX and/or Linux high performance computing clusters in a Production environment.

5+ years’ experience supporting scientific application needs, including installation, testing, and enhancement of open source application development tools such as gcc, Perl, Python, and R and installation and testing of NGS applications such as bcl2fastq, samtools, and tophat.

5+ years’ experience with installation, configuration & maintenance of system applications such as PBS/Torque, Moab, LSF, CMU, MPI, etc., including a good working knowledge of fair share scheduling in a Production environment.

3+ years’ experience with integration and maintenance  Mellanox InfiniBand and/or Intel Omni-Path Interconnect solutions within a Production clustered High Performance Computing environment

Advanced knowledge of UNIX and Linux operating systems.
Advanced knowledge of fiber channel SAN configuration.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts such as SMTP, DNS, and port binding.
Ability to analyze and problem solve system, application, and network problems
Advanced working knowledge of writing and debugging shell, Perl, or other scripting solutions.
Working knowledge of GPFS storage systems.
Working knowledge of parallel computing and programming.
