Our goal in Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine is to provide state-of-the-art anesthesia care, pain management and life support for cancer patients in intensive care units. We provide comprehensive patient care starting with an initial evaluation in the Perioperative Evaluation and Management (POEM) center. Patients undergo surgery in the operating room and receive care in the post-anesthesia and intensive care units. In the intensive care unit, a team of critical care specialists, nurses and respiratory care practitioners provide state-of-the-art life-supporting treatments for all of MD Anderson’s critically ill patients. Our clinicians also offer pain management services to postoperative patients and cancer patients with various pain conditions related to cancer and its treatment. Care is provided on the inpatient services and in our Pain Management Center. 

Anesthesiology Inventory Tech opportunity in the Anesthesiology, Critical Care & Pain Medicine department.  The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least two years of customer service experience (front-facing people).

Shift:  Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm; during inventory season, April through June, as needed, will work 10:00 am – 7:00 pm.  Must have flexibility to cover morning shifts as required, with hours ranging from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Salary:  $41,000 – minimum $51,000 – midpoint $61,000 - maximum

Key Functions 

Anesthesia Supplies  
a. Work with staff to ensure that the necessary supplies are at a level that allows them to be readily available to all Anesthesia service areas
b. Stock and maintain supplies in all OR pods as well as all offsite areas
c. Transport supplies from Anesthesia central inventory to clinical service areas
d. Manage supply expirations to ensure that supplies are being used in a timely manner so that items do not remain on the shelf that are expired 

Administration 
a. Maintain a database of daily supply request
b. Maintain PAR levels in PeopleSoft for assigned areas
c. Communicate back order and substitution information to key stakeholders 

Inventory Support 
a. Support annual inventory process for entire division

EDUCATION
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: None

EXPERIENCE
Required: None
Preferred: Two years of customer service experience (front-facing people)
