The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the Clinical Research Analyst position is to prepare detailed coverage analysis from the research protocol using the Clinical Trial Policy, National and Local Coverage Determination and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Identify appropriate research modifiers using Centers of Medicare Services (CMS) guidelines.  Assist Principal Investigator (PI) with determination of standard of care and research charges. Work with departments and PI to standardize research templates and documents. Collects financial data, analyzes charges, cost, and collection data for patients participating in private industry and federally sponsored clinical trials.  Assist Supervisor with documentation of policies and procedures.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Function 1  
Preparing detailed cost analysis from the research study protocols using the Clinical Trial Policy, National and Local Coverage Determination and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Identifying appropriate research modifiers using Centers of Medicare Services (CMS) guidelines.  

Function 2  
Creates detailed study calendars for each clinical research study involving billable and reimburseable items/services. Makes coverage determinations on standard of care and research charges relating to items/services in the clinical research study.

Function 3   
Collaborates with Principal Investigator and/or study team regarding the clinical research study. Assist Supervisor with documentation of policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred: Master's degree or Medical degree

Experience

Required: Two years clinical research or related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required. Epic Research Proficiency within 90 days of hire or job change.

Preferred: Three years of clinical research experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
