Work Schedule: 11am - 8pm Tuesday - Saturday


Manages the environmental/building services operations for an assigned area. Impacts facility operations and compliance within the institution.


Facilities Management  Plans, coordinates and manages the operation, emergency response, housekeeping and alteration of assigned area. Participates in inspections and ensures compliance with department, institutional and regulatory standards.
Coordinates request for repairs, building improvements and alterations. Forecasts future needs of specific area. Manages budget for specific area. Continuously prepares for Joint Commission. Focused on continuously improvement of patient satisfaction surveys.
Maintains staff and assigned area ready for Joint Commission inspection.
Oversees USP 797 cleaning and documentation.
Oversees OR cleaning and disinfection.
Maintains hallways in a clear and safe manner at all times.
Response to removal of hallway obstructions (standard:  15 minutes).
Identifies and reports life safety deficiencies on a daily basis.


Personnel Management & Development  Hires staff, completes performance reviews, recommends promotions and oversees other human resources issues.
Communicates and coordinates with other EVS managers.
Develops staff schedules.
Conducts disciplinary actions.
Awards staff accomplishment.
Observes clock in, cart check out and return.
Supervises floor care program for assigned areas.
Supervises the electronic Bed Management System.
Implements cost control measures.
Continuous improvement on HCAHPS and Press Ganey Scores.
Schedules and assists staff with mandatory training.
Trains staff on work instructions.
Trains staff on safety (Personal Protection Equipment).
Trains staff in proper use of equipment.
Trains staff on infection control procedures (chemical use, ATP sampling, Xenex disinfection).
Mentors team leaders in their professional development.
Tracks the On-Boarding of new staff through the first year.
Controls use of overtime.
Monitors staff on FMLA (call each member for return to work).
Does daily Kronos updates.
Does weekly exception reports.
Completed eperformance on schedule.
Close demand work orders daily.

 

Customer Service   Understands Service Level Agreements, departmental policies and procedures and carries them out through proper responses and quality outcomes to ensure customer satisfaction.
Sets priorities and manages work and time with a sense of urgency through communication with other managers, team leaders, team members and customers to satisfy their requests.
Monitors own area and inspect work completed.
Develops and in depth understanding of area assigned and a working knowledge of other areas and team members in environmental services so they can provide effective direction and leadership in the absence of that manager.
Communicates with customers/patients in response to concerns and requests and follows up on service delivery utilizing AIDET principles.
Oversees the delivery of beds in appropriate quantities and to the right locations in a timely manner.
Conduct documented minimum of eight Leadership Rounds on a weekly basis, follow up with necessary actions.

Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of environmental services experience to include two years in a supervisory/management capacity. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
