Patient Access Specialist - Diagnostic Imaging Patient Reception Services

We are seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to support our Diagnostic Imaging department. In this role, you will coordinate medical and financial clearance for patients referred for diagnostic procedures only (DPO), ensuring a seamless experience across the continuum of care.
Shift: Hybrid: Monday – Friday / 10am – 7pm and Saturday / 7am – Noon. / 2 days onsite 3 days work from home
Location: Houston Medical Center.
The ideal candidate will have three years of experience in healthcare, insurance, and/or patient access.
Key Responsibilities
• Screen and schedule new patient appointments using established medical acceptance criteria to optimize clinic efficiency.
• Coordinate medical and financial clearance for Diagnostic Imaging patients referred for diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and clinical teams to resolve issues and ensure timely service delivery.
• Maintain professionalism and foster collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare team members.

EDUCATION
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: Associate's Degree Business, healthcare or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 3 years Experience in healthcare, insurance or related field. or
- Required: 1 year Required experience with preferred degree.
- Preferred: 5 years Business experience in healthcare, insurance, or a multi-specialty physician practice.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Preferred: CHAA - Cert Healthcare Access Assoc National Association of Healthcare Access Management. Upon Hire or
- Preferred: CHAM - Cert Healthcare Access Mgr National Association of Healthcare Access Management. Upon Hire
