Patient Services Coordinator - Lymphoma
The Patient Services Coordinator at MD Anderson Cancer Center coordinates and schedules patient appointments and impacts patient care services by ensuring timely and accurate scheduling of provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments. This role is essential to maintaining smooth patient flow and supporting the multidisciplinary care team.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma and three years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting. The candidate must be available to work 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts each week, Monday–Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays, from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. A two-week orientation is required, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
The G19 Leukemia/Lymphoma unit is a 48-bed unit within the hematology cohort. Hematology patients are hospitalized for supportive care during active, aggressive high-dose chemotherapy/biotherapy and cellular therapy through a wide range of morbidity related symptoms, as well as re-hospitalization for treatment side effects. Leukemia care includes diagnosis, induction, consolidation, maintenance chemotherapy and symptom management, as well as salvage therapies for relapsed disease. Patients with lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and mycosis fungoides are treated with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic agents and radiation therapy.
Hourly breakdown of salary range based on a 36-hour work week:
Minimum $36,000 | Midpoint $45,000 | Maximum $54,000

Essential Job Functions:
• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments
• Schedule provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments
• Prepare and maintain daily appointment templates and/or patient records in One Connect
• Communicate all pertinent information to families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas
• Prepare patient materials and documentation according to established procedures
• Collect co-payments and validate patient insurance and demographics
• Update payment and patient information; reconcile One Connect cash drawer daily
• Perform validation of the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ)
• Ensure coordination of benefits and assignment of Hospital Account Record (HAR)
• Follow standard operating procedures for institution and center
• Protect the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times
• Other duties as assigned
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Required: Three years of relevant work experience (may substitute additional education for required experience on a one-to-one basis).
Experience Preferred: Three years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
Other Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources
