​​The Procedural and Therapeutics division is comprised of several operational areas that provide therapeutic or procedural-based support for oncology care rooted in safe, high-quality practice. We work hand-in-hand with multiple divisions across the institution, including Surgery; Radiation Oncology; Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging.

 

The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-motivated professional with strong scheduling experience, as this role is approximately 95% focused on provider scheduling and template management. They are highly organized, solutions-oriented, and take initiative to resolve issues while supporting front desk operations as needed. Candidates with PSC experience are strongly preferred. This position is onsite and based at the Texas Medical Center, Monday – Friday, 8 hours.

KEY FUNCTIONS
Communication with patients/family and multidisciplinary teams  Patient/Family Interaction: 
•    Greets, orients and answers questions. 
•    Advises patients and family members of available services. 
•    Schedules patient visits, physician appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments. 
•    Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, co-workers, and visitors.

Multidisciplinary Teams: 
•    Transcribes and coordinates physician orders.
•    Communicates pertinent information regarding appointments, scheduling, and necessary preparations to patients, families, physicians, team members and other patient care areas whether in person, by mail, by phone, by online applications or secure messaging.  

Record Maintenance: 
•    Prepares and maintains appointment templates and/or patient records electronically and/or manually as directed.  
•    Updates relevant patient information in order to maintain an accurate patient record. 
•    Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times. 
•    Handles and processes a complex and varied series of documents and situations.

Financial Activities in accordance with established departmental processes:   
•    Reviews and reconciles patient charge documents. 
•    Enters technical charges as needed. 
•    May collect and reconcile cash payments as needed. ​

EDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 3 years Relevant work experience. or
  • Additional education may be substituted for required experience on a one-to-one basis.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
