The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Program Manager to support Food & Nutrition Services Administration. The Program Manager plays a critical role in advancing department operations, employee engagement, compliance, and strategic initiatives within Food & Nutrition Services. This Program Manager will collaborate with leadership, Human Resources, and Strategic Communications to align programs with institutional standards while enhancing patient and customer dining experiences.

This Program Manager role offers an opportunity to make a measurable impact across workforce development, compliance, and strategic communications.


The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and significant experience in program management, workforce engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. A strong background in employee relations, marketing strategy, regulatory compliance, and healthcare or food service operations is highly valued, along with the ability to lead initiatives that improve staff engagement and customer experience.


Minimum $37.98 – Midpoint $47.60 – Maximum $57.21

Responsibilities


Program Management & Human Resources Liaison
• Lead and develop administrative and program staff to ensure effective communication, engagement, and role clarity
• Support department-wide employee engagement initiatives aligned with hospital priorities and patient-centered care
• Identify opportunities to enhance existing programs and initiate new initiatives
• Collaborate with department leaders to establish and monitor internal control systems
• Promote psychological safety, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with regulatory standards
• Monitor workforce engagement metrics and implement improvement strategies
• Participate in employee relations, performance management, corrective actions, and workforce planning
• Serve as liaison with Human Resources and Strategic Communications to ensure policy and brand alignment
• Support onboarding, orientation, and training to ensure staff competency prior to independent practice
• Ensure completion, tracking, and compliance of mandatory education and institutional trainings


Marketing, Branding & Strategic Communications Liaison
• Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals and retail growth
• Maintain cohesive brand identity across dining, retail cafés, catering, and wellness initiatives
• Analyze market trends in healthcare dining and consumer preferences
• Design campaigns to enhance patient and customer dining experiences
• Manage digital presence including intranet, apps, digital boards, and social media with Strategic Communications
• Create content including menus, signage, and storytelling that connects food and wellness
• Lead promotions for cafés, grab-and-go, and catering to increase engagement and sales
• Develop seasonal campaigns, promotions, and merchandising strategies
• Collaborate with culinary teams to highlight signature and wellness-forward offerings
• Coordinate wellness events, health fairs, and educational activities


Policies, Procedures, SOPs, SLAs & Documentation Compliance
• Participate in developing, reviewing, and implementing departmental policies aligned with regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and The Joint Commission standards
• Coordinate updates to Emergency Operation Plans, Business Continuity Plans, and downtime procedures annually
• Maintain full compliance with document control, version management, and accessibility standards
• Ensure policies support food safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness
• Manage and support revisions of position documents and SharePoint updates

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Required: 5 years Related experience to include three years program management. or
  • Required: 3 years Experience required with Master's degree.
  • Preferred: Strong marketing and project background a plus.
  • : May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
