The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I position is to coordinate, design, and carry out cancer research projects while following standard operating procedures for the laboratory.

**The ideal candidate will have molecular biology, mouse experiments and tissue culture experience**

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Research Experiments and Projects
Performs basic molecular biology and tissue culture techniques in manipulating DNA and RNA. Will complete a wide range of experimental procedures, including PCR and libraries of single cells (e.g., from different projects in the lab).

Laboratory Function
Conduct multiple PCR or other bench techniques as necessary. Execute quantification and quality controls of the libraries using various platforms. Document and assess data obtained per the requested methods and report the findings to the PI.

Laboratory Maintenance
Maintains a clean and organized work area in the laboratory to ensure efficient operation and a pleasant, safe working environment in the 10X room, while managing inventory. Adheres to written instructions and operations manuals. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.

EXPERIENCE:
Required:
No experience.

Preferred:

Performs basic molecular biology in manipulating DNA and RNA.
Performs tissue culture techniques on a wide range of cell lines and primary cells.
Performs basic mouse experiments (e.g., breeding, genotyping, tumor transplantation, etc.).
Document and assess data obtained per the requested methods and report the findings to the PI.
Maintains a clean and organized work area in the laboratory to ensure efficient operation and a pleasant, safe working environment.
Adheres to written instructions and operations manuals. Performs other duties as assigned.
