MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research, and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

Key Functions

  • Conducts research experiments and projects. 
  • The applicant will coordinate and participate in scientific research projects under the direction of a professional staff member.
  • Conducts florescence in situ hybridization experiments and carries out cell culture experiments to understand chromatin abnormalities in human brain tumor cells.
  • Operates laboratory apparatus and equipment: Constructs, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment.
  • Utilizes laboratory equipment to carry out experiments.
  • Data gathering and analysis Keeps detailed, thorough notes of experiments in a lab notebook/electronic record in English, and routinely discusses data with supervisor.
  • Records and interprets results from in vitro and in vivo experiments.
  • Routinely presents at the lab meetings and submit abstract to national/regional scientific meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
