Research Assistant I

The Research Assistant I plays an important role in advancing research efforts that support improved cancer treatment outcomes and scientific discovery.
The Research Assistant I will join a research program focused on the imaging correlates of tumor response and treatment-related toxicity in patients receiving radiotherapy or systemic anti-neoplastic therapies. Working closely with principal investigators, postdoctoral researchers, students, and research staff, the Research Assistant I will contribute to scientific studies involving multi-parametric MRI and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) biomarker development. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a basic science, natural science, applied science, or related research discipline, or a medical degree. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in scientific or experimental research and familiarity with diagnostic imaging, oncology research, or related clinical research environments. The candidate should demonstrate strong technical aptitude, scientific curiosity, collaboration skills, and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Minimum $18.99 – Midpoint $23.80 – Maximum $28.61 per hour

Responsibilities
Research Project Support
• Retrieve planning CT scans, diagnostic MRI studies, and radiation therapy dose data for patient treatment planning and research activities • Support research projects examining imaging correlates of tumor response and treatment-related toxicity in cancer patients • Collaborate with principal investigators, postdoctoral researchers, students, and research assistants on scientific studies • Participate in research focused on multi-parametric MRI and ADC biomarker development and validation
Clinical & Imaging Data Management
• Develop and maintain comprehensive databases containing clinical and imaging data for enrolled patients • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance through quality assurance practices • Manage research data acquisition and organization in accordance with established protocols and procedures
Image Analysis & Scientific Activities
• Support image registration workflows and segmentation of organs at risk • Assist with data analysis, interpretation of findings, and research study reporting • Present research findings to professional audiences • Contribute to the preparation and development of scientific manuscripts and publications
Research Coordination
• Collaborate with principal investigators, co-investigators, and partner departments to ensure research activities align with institutional policies and procedures • Assist with management of research studies and fulfillment of protocol requirements • Facilitate execution of approved research plans and study objectives • Organize, coordinate, and actively participate in scientific research activities
Compliance, Audits & Laboratory Operations
• Organize and support study monitoring and auditing visits • Serve as a liaison for monitoring and audit activities • Collaborate with the research team to address audit findings and implement corrective actions • Manage laboratory equipment and help maintain efficient research operations • Enforce laboratory safety protocols and model safe work practices
