MD Anderson Therapeutics Discovery Division
Within The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center lies the Therapeutics Discovery Division (TDD), a powerful engine driving the future of new targeted, immune- and cell-based therapies. Therapeutics Discovery eliminates the bottlenecks that hamper traditional drug discovery by employing a multidisciplinary team of dedicated researchers, doctors, drug developers, and scientific experts working together to develop small-molecule drugs, biologics, and cellular therapies. Our unique structure and collaborative approach allow the team to work with agility, bringing novel medicines from concept to clinic quickly and efficiently – all under the same roof.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to fill a key scientific management position within the Therapeutics Discovery Division (TDD). This role is responsible for the strategic development, coordination, and oversight of both new and existing research programs. The Scientific Manager will lead cross-functional programmatic efforts across departments, divisions, and external collaborators—including academic institutions, industry partners, and other organizations—to drive forward innovative and high-impact therapeutic initiatives.

Key Functions
* Participate in and enable external collaborations within TDD by providing scientific and budgetary support, including for corporate partnerships, philanthropic, licensing, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
* Develop, maintain, and update tools and approaches for actively managing the scientific, administrative, and financial aspects of the internal and external TDD therapeutics portfolio.
* Support the development and management of scientific program budgets as well as the overall TDD annual budget.
* Actively manage and maintain relationships with institutional collaborators to support internal and external portfolio efforts.
* Act as Alliance and Program Manager on behalf of MDACC for TDD corporate partnerships, working closely with legal, SIV, compliance, finance, regulatory, and other institutional groups to ensure execution of contractual and administrative matters, research plans, financial items, and relevant clinical trial activities.
* Work with project leadership to ensure that internal and collaboration research and activities align with TDD priorities, needs, goals, and opportunities.
* Ensure that research, development, and strategic plans for collaboration activities are developed in coordination with partners and executed effectively and efficiently.
* Support development and review of scientific research plans, presentations, reports, and other documents, including providing strategic guidance to enable execution.
* Manage the scheduling, develop agendas, and write minutes for internal TDD meetings, meetings with external partners, and other meetings as needed.
* Assist in TDD competitive intelligence strategy as needed.
* Manage and update TDD organizational charts and pipeline summaries.
* Support other TDD administrative activities as needed.
