Senior Procurement Coordinator - Pharmacy Division

The Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years experience demonstrating proficiency in entering orders and retrieving reports and other information for medications. They will also have the ability to research the availability of required products, searching for the lowest price and/or best service possible. Maintains knowledge of market trend.

Job Competencies

 

1. Accurately prepares purchase orders for drugs for the entire institution through the Division of Pharmacy. Accurately prepares purchase orders for non-drugs for the Division of Pharmacy. Demonstrates proficiency in entering orders and retrieving reports and other information from the institutional PeopleSoft system. Generates additional required documents for placing orders for controlled substances. Forwards orders to vendors as required, monitoring the receipt of orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. Conducts appropriate follow up to expedite all purchase orders.

2. Accurately and efficiently researches the availability of required products, searching for the lowest price and/or best service possible. Maintains knowledge of market and institution trends to ensure best purchase price. Makes recommendations to end users on materials, manufacturers, and suppliers from a technical, functional, and cost perspective. Knows and maintains relationship with suppliers. Maintains vendor records for accuracy of information and performance history.

3. Enters purchase order and receipt information into a computerized database PC program for recordkeeping and monitors receipt information in the institutional PeopleSoft system for processing by Accounts Payable for payment. Monitors invoices for accurate pricing per Group Purchasing Organization or individual contracts. Reconciles invoices for timely payment, as required. Maintains tracking information for credits and/or rebates due and received.

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or related field.

Work Experience

  • Required: 7 years Experience in a general business environment. or
  • Required: 3 years Experience in a general business environment is required with Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred: At least 3 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician with experience in ordering/receiving medication.
