The primary role of this Sr. Application Systems Analyst position is to provide planning, technical expertise and execution prowess to facilitate the implementation of the Advarra OnCore Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) (“the system”) and its integration with select clinical and research applications of the institution.  This position will interact with customers and the project team frequently during implementation, as well as providing technical support after the rollout of OnCore.  

Technical Leadership   
Possess and elaborates a holistic view of how the CTMS system is constructed, how it is integrated with other MD Anderson applications, how it will be used, how it can be enhanced and optimized to fulfill evolving user needs

Scope of Work   
Works with users, business analysis and project management to formulate and accomplish designated scope of work per good understanding and practices of technical requirement analysis, workflow design and research applications

Solution Design    
Translates business requirements to technical specifications. Illustrates system and integration design to facilitate the implementation and configuration of this enterprise system. Provides feasibility studies and their impacts on schedule, deliverables and risk assessment to project management.

Investigates integration/interface mechanisms and facilitate their implementation of the system with Epic and select clinical trial applications

Data Migration    
Analyzes and produces data models, mapping and dictionary to facilitate data migration from legacy systems to this system

Technical Support    
Provides technical support after the rollout of the system. Abides by the change management process per IT governance policy. Gathers user feedback and consults with project management for a roadmap to enhance the system as it will continue to evolve to serve our user needs.

Education Required
Bachelor’s degree


Experience Required: 
Five years experience in domain, analysis, design, project management, Epic software or programming.  May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.


Preferred Experience: 
Five years of cross-domain experience in web or cloud-based software implementation, system integration, workflow and data analysis, and project management 
Experience in the clinical research/trial or the healthcare industry. Experience with a CTMS system such as OnCore is strongly preferred.
Experience with the Agile methodology and working with vendors
Proficiency in productivity tools to create designs, workflow diagrams, data models, etc.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and writing skills
Demonstrable ability to take initiative, follow through, and establish/enhance processes and operational efficiency
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
