The Division of Radiation Oncology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight for our APP teams at the Mays Clinic. This role offers a balance of administrative leadership and clinical practice, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. Clinical effort for this position will be allocated to the GU clinic.

Success in this position requires exceptional interpersonal effectiveness, adaptability, and coachability. The APP Supervisor is expected to foster collaboration, support team morale, and lead with composure and clarity in the face of challenges or organizational change.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) required
  • 4 years of experience as a Clinical APP preferred
  • Supervisory or leadership experience strongly desired, but not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and guidance to APP staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing assignments, and clinical operations.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of APPs.
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching, feedback, and evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional policies, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain clinical practice responsibilities appropriate to licensure and department needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between APPs, faculty, and other disciplines to support smooth operations and high-quality patient care.

Education
Degree requirements as defined by the Texas State Board Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) or Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (TSBNE), as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant. 

Experience
Two years experience as an advanced practice provider. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources. 

Licensure/Certification
Current license and/or certification as defined by the (TSBPAE) or (TSBNE) as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN or ACNP or ACNPC or ACAGNP or AGACNP or ACNPC-AG or AGACNP or AGNP or ACPNP or ANP or AGNP or AGPCNP or FNP or GNP or PNP or PMHNP or WHNP or APNP) or Physician Assistant. Related authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
